Youth Employment Services (YES Program)
POSSE encourages each host site to hire Native American summer youth workers to assist with the summer learning program. Responsible high school students can empty trash, sweep and mop, read to students, listen to students read to them, use flash cards for sight word memorization, and ultimately, be tremendous role models for students attending the summer learning program.
Youth Employment Services (YES) can supplement POSSE summer workers with up to 40 hours/week for up to 5 weeks during the local POSSE summer programs. Applicants need to apply before March 1st in the Chahta Achvffa Portal https://chahtaachvffa.choctawnation.com/.
Documents needed to determine applicant eligibility are:
A Worksite Agreement Form must be filled out by the participating school for each Summer Youth - POSSE participant and approved by the YES Program Manager before work can begin.

- CDIB and/or Tribal Membership Card from a Federally Recognized Tribe
- Proof of Residency (both physical and mailing) within the boundary of Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma
- Employment Development Plan
- Selective Service Registration (Males 18 years of age or older before the first day of employment)
- Household Income Verification
- Signed Acknowledgement From
- Signed Statement of Understanding (applicants below 18 years of age)
